McCulloch MC1375 vs MC1275: which steam cleaner to choose…?
Appearance and size
These machines are similar in shape and size, but there are a few design cues that make them a little different. Both are black and yellow like a bumblebee. But, in my opinion, it is obvious that the mc1275 is the old model. Aesthetics don’t really matter for machines like this, as they’re usually hidden away and only popped out when you need to use them. Still, it’s nice to see that they’ve decided to give the 1375 an upgraded look.
The mc1275 and 1375 are roughly the same size, the mc1275 measures 13.5 ″ H x 10.5 ″ W x 17.2 ″ D and weighs 10 pounds while the mc1375 measures 10.5 ″ H x 12, 2 ″ W x 15.6 ″ D and weighs 10.8 pounds. I generally prefer products that are as light as possible while maintaining maximum performance and structural efficiency. However, in this case, the difference is negligible.
You will get good performance with either of these machines, but there is one noticeable difference. Both of these units come with a 48-ounce tank. But you get 45 minutes of steam cleaning with the MC1275 versus 90 minutes of steam cleaning with the MC1375.
Another big difference is that the MC1375 comes with a variable steam control dial. Located on the front of the machine is a dial which you can use to increase or decrease the flow of steam. This gives you more control over how you approach different jobs. Some jobs, like countertops, will require less steam while others, like grout lines, will require more.
Both units have multi-directional front wheels that will allow you to go where you need to go. You can turn around and have the unit behind you.
It takes approximately 8 minutes for the MC1275 to reach the correct temperature and approximately 10 minutes for the MC1375. The steam will get very hot, I have met customers who claim that the temperature is up to 250 degrees which is hot enough to kill bedbugs, their eggs and larvae.

Both of these units have built-in storage for accessories, long power cords (15 feet for the mc1275 and 18 feet for the mc1375) and long hoses. The 1375 also comes with a pressure gauge.
Both models come with a one-year limited warranty.
There are a lot of things to love about these two vapors. One of the main reasons is that you clean more efficiently. Which means there is less back and forth movement. And you can clean without using harsh chemicals.
I have met dozens of people who are absolutely in love with the 1275. The condition that it is good to use on grout lines, behind the faucet and in all those little hard to reach cracks. You know, the places you ignore because you don’t know how to clean them. It even seems to be really good on the upholstery.
I have met people who even brag about how well done they are. I can usually get an idea of the quality of a product by just looking at the photos. The 1275 looks well done. The plastic appears to be sturdy and thick. Some cheapo products are made from thin, inexpensive plastic.
Some people weren’t so happy though. The main complaints I encountered were related to durability. Some complained that the water compartment was leaking or that the hose broke after a while. Some said he couldn’t handle heavy work like cleaning a barbecue. Still, I think this steamboat is a good buy.
The 1375 is also very popular. You see, steam cleaners can get really expensive. This model is the most popular because of its cost / value ratio. Customers appreciate the variable steam dial and the quality of workmanship. The most common complaints I have encountered are about durability, but nothing I would say is an issue that indicates serious issues in the production line.
The McCulloch MC1375 vs MC1275 product comparison shows two very similar cartridge steam cleaners. But overall the best product is the MC1375. It offers 90 minutes of continuous steam cleaning action, a variable steam pressure dial, a pressure gauge, two additional accessories and an updated design.
The MC1275 is not a bad choice however, it offers many of the same features as the 1375 minus a few accessories. Overall, you can’t go wrong with either of these choices. Really, they are two of the best steamboats you can buy under $ 200.
