The Clarisonic Mia 1 and the Clarisonic Mia 2 are two of the most popular facial cleansing brushes on the market. The Clarisonic Mia 1 is a lower-end model that’s designed for use once or twice a day, while the Clarisonic Mia 2 is a higher-end model with more power and sophisticated features. Which one should you buy? Let’s compare!

Clarisonic Mia 1 Features
The Clarisonic Mia comes with a radiant brush head and a trial size cleaner. You can use your own cleanser if you wish. It is best to use the same product for an extended period of time.
Once Mia is fully charged, rinse the brush and wet your face. It is recommended that you remove eye makeup by hand. Do not use the brush near your eyes. Add the cleanser to your face or to the brush. It is your preference how you would like to add the cleanser. This can also evolve over time. You may find that you like to wet your face and add the cleanser and then brush with Mia.
Glide the brush gently over the face. Start at the forehead and work your way down the nose and chin. Finally, sweep the brush across your cheeks. Clarisonic recommends 10 to 20 seconds on each area of the face. There is a timer that will turn the Mia off when it reaches 60 seconds. In general, people turn the Mia back on when they press the timer if they want to wash their face for more than a minute.

Clarisonic Mia 2 Features
The Mia 2 has two speeds (I prefer the stronger one) and has a programmed timer so you know when to clean a certain area of your face and when to move on to another. The vibration of the Mia is nice and strong and, although the timed cleaning seems to go by fairly quickly, it really cleans the face.
With practice, I’ve learned not to apply too much pressure during cleansing and to let the bristles do the work. Also, the Refreshing Gel Cleanser is amazing! I tend to have oily/combination skin and this cleanser has been wonderful.
