Comparison of the Brondell Swash 1000 and Toto S300 bidets
The Brondell Swash 1000 and Toto s300 are both toilet seats and bidets.
The round versions of both seats are almost the same size. The Toto is slightly larger than the Brondell. As for the elongated version, the Brondell measures 21 “x 15” x 6 “, while the Toto is significantly larger at 24” x 21 “x 7”. These seats with bidets should fit regular round and elongated toilets.
When it comes to pricing, the Toto s300 has been dropped. This means that they can be a little hard to find, but when you find them they tend to be at a good price as Toto has released newer models, the s350 and the s300e – these are two great models you may also want to consider. . Brondell prices vary a lot by store, so it’s worth shopping around before you buy.
The Toto and the Brondell both have an elegant look. The Toto is more square and, in my opinion, at least, is a bit more understated about the fact that it is a bidet. The Brondell has a more rounded back profile and a larger seating surface that does not lift with the cover. When it comes to looks, users of both are quite happy with the looks of the models they’ve purchased, suggesting that these different looks are mostly personal preferences.
The Brondell and Toto both have heated toilet seats and adjustable nozzle positions, but let’s take a closer look at their features.
The Brondell and the Toto are packed with features, and they have different strengths and weaknesses. This means that when deciding which model is right for you, you need to consider which features are most important to you. You can then determine which model best suits the features you are looking for.
The Brondell has two stainless steel nozzles. They are adjustable and have an excellent self-cleaning function. The Brondell has a wide jet and an oscillating mode for posterior and feminine washes. The spray width is adjustable. Some users have found that the feminine wash does not extend far enough forward. However, the majority of users did not find this to be a problem.
Some users have found the adjustable water pressure to be problematic. They found the low setting too low to be effective and the high setting too high. However, this problem may be related to the way the seat is installed or to your personal preferences, as it does not affect everyone.
The Toto also has an adjustable, self-cleaning nozzle. The Toto s300 has an oscillating and pulsing mode. Some users found these modes a useful and welcome addition, but a small number of users said they were not very helpful.

A small number of users have found that their units perform poorly after a few years of use and that the controls and cleaning modes have become erratic. This problem does not appear to be widespread. Others have found that the water pressure has dropped dramatically, which appears to be due to a build-up of hard water that the self-cleaning system cannot clean. However, it is quick and easy to clean up hard water buildup.
The Toto nozzle is a single nozzle with feminine wash and post wash included on the single plastic nozzle. Many users prefer Brondell’s stainless steel dual nozzles for hygienic peace of mind.
The Brondell and the Toto both have instant tankless water heating. The advantage of the tankless water heater is that you will never run out of hot water. Users of both say they are impressed with how quickly the water heats up. The Brondell and Toto both have adjustable water temperatures and water volume.
The Brondell and the Toto both have a hot air dryer. They are both temperature adjustable.
While an air dryer is a great feature, it can be difficult to implement effectively. One of the biggest complaints from users about the Toto s300 is that the air dryer isn’t powerful enough to dry them properly after cleaning, which means they end up using the dryer twice, then always with toilet paper to finish.
The Brondell air dryer is a less common, but still present, complaint about the Swash 1000. It seems that the air dryers on most bidets are problematic to operate, so they are rarely trouble free.
Both models have a soft-close seat, which is pretty standard on bidet seats, as slamming the lid could damage internal components.
The Brondell seat is firmer than the Toto, with users reporting they can sit on the closed toilet seat, which is unusual for seat / bidet combos. Brondell markets the cover as “assistable”. The seat of the Toto s300 has antibacterial properties.
The Brondell and Toto both have heated seats with adjustable temperature control.
Some users have found their Brondell seats to be broken after a few years of normal use. The seats are not very expensive to replace. However, I haven’t come across similar reports for the Toto.
Both models have wireless remotes. The Toto has an illuminated remote control for night visits. Many users find the Brondell remote control very intuitive and easy to use.

The Brondell Swash 1000 comes with a three year warranty. The Brondell warranty system is different from what you might be used to; they have a tiered system that reduces Brondell’s liability each year after purchase. For the first year Brondell will cover 100% of the cost of parts and labor for all repairs, for the second year Brondell will cover 75% of the cost, and for the third year they will cover 50% of the cost parts and labor for warranty repairs.
The Toto comes with a one year limited warranty. Users reported that Toto’s customer service is generally pleasant to deal with, although some users have found it difficult to deal with customer service agents as units need to be shipped to the manufacturer or their service agent for repair.
The two Bidet toilet seats in this comparison are great choices. In fact, it is quite difficult to discern between the two. The Brondell is seated, which means you can sit on the closed seat cover without worrying about breaking it. On the other hand, Toto has antimicrobial properties. However, if I chose between the two, I would probably go with the Toto S300 as it seems to be ahead of the Brondell Swash 1000 in the sustainability department.
