Bissell 9595a vs 1330: which bagless vacuum is right for you?

Appearance and size

These machines are virtually identical except for a few design cues. The Bissell 9595 is black with purple or brown or something (sorry I didn’t have a Crayola box handy when I wrote this) on the reverse, the 1330 is black with orange accents . Due to the clear plastic on the 1330 the brush is visible but not on the 9595a.

Overall, vacuum cleaners are somewhat clunky machines, they are clunky, and are generally unappealing. Well, when it comes to vacuum cleaners, these two aren’t bad.

They share most of the same dimensions, but the 1330 is a bit heavier. The 9595’s debris collection tank is a bit larger. The width of the foot is the same, at 13.5 inches wide.

An entrance

Wouldn’t it be great if you could just step over the mat once and pick it all up? Well, that’s what these two Bissell vacuums are supposed to be able to do. A combination of a unique brush design (the brush spins down into the pile of the carpet) and multicyclonic power, find out more here. In fact, Bissell states that the 1330 clears most of the surface debris in a single pass based on a visual test (BTP0221).

But would it be true? I was a little skeptical about this on first reading, but after digging a little deeper I was pleasantly surprised. There are customers who claim that this functionality is indeed true. But how long will you have this level of performance? Well, without clinical trials any answer you get would be arbitrary. However, anecdotal evidence indicates that aspiration is sustained over time. But remember, vacuum cleaners, like any other device, have an expiration date.

The Bissell 9595 is the more powerful of the two, it has a 12 amp motor versus 10 amps for the 1330. I think this is a big difference. Most other features being equal, this one might be the deciding factor for you. The cyclonic system is designed to guarantee the suction power of your vacuum cleaners for many years.

Power cord

The power cords are both 25 feet long, which should be long enough to reach all areas of your home.

Easy to empty dirt tank

The dust container of the 9595 has a capacity of 2.27 liters while the 1330 has a capacity of 2 liters. Both have clear dirt and debris collectors, hence CleanView. The dirt tanks are designed for maximum convenience as they open at the bottom of the tank. I bought a bagless vacuum years ago and the debris collector would open at the top it was sometimes painful as sometimes the top got stuck and I ended up getting debris on my hands. The bottom latch makes it a lot easier, trust me.

Many customers seem to be interested in knowing if the filter is HEPA type. If you are unfamiliar with HEPA filters, know that for now; they are tall. Most importantly, they will help reduce the number of allergens released into the air when you vacuum. Unfortunately, none of these machines are a sealed HEPA system. If this is very important to you, you may want to explore other options.

They are both, however, multi-level filtration systems. There are two filters, one is washable and the other will need to be replaced regularly. They provide you with a Hepa filter to get you started.

Tools and Attachments

Tools and accessories make your job much easier to accomplish. These two machines are delivered with the same accessories: twisted and pressure hose, extension, dusting brush / upholstery tool, crevice tool, turbobrush tool.

These two machines have a 2 year warranty.

In my opinion, when it comes to the Bissell 9595a vs 1330 cleanview product comparison, you end up with an easy decision. They are almost identical with a few minor differences. The biggest difference being that the 9595 has a more powerful motor, 12.5 amps versus 10 amps.

The most noticeable difference is the color schemes. The Bissell 9595a is black and purplish, and the 1330 is black and orange. Additionally, the 1330 has a transparent base housing that covers the brush while the 9595’s brush is not visible in the upright position.

The 1330 is slightly, like very slightly heavier. The difference is tiny, less than half a pound of difference. The 9595 is more powerful than the 1330, but the performance difference will be minimal. If I was the one choosing, I would go for the 9595a (as long as you don’t mind the color). Why buy the less powerful and heavier vacuum cleaner, especially if the prices are close to each other?
